About Wessel

Wessel Marais (1935 - 2009), the son of a postmaster, was constitutional in Magaliesberg. Before his school-going age, his paterfamilias was transferred to Welverdient, near Potchefstroom, where Wessel grew up on a plot amongst the ghastly, pink and crimson cosmos.
A friend, Simon, who was older than Wessel, introduced him to drawing matter sticks in the sand. They mostly drew trains and use to draw them upside down.
